Located directly under the SF side of the Golden Gate Bridge is Fort point. The Mission The Mission District is formerly Irish, now Latino... and quickly becoming a gentrified hipster community. To take a tour, you can take the BART to 16th Street and walk up 16th street towards Valencia Street. Keep walking up 16th until you see Mission Dolores, located at Dolores and 16th. From there, continue down Dolores Street towards 18th until you see Dolores Park. You may want to get your picnic at Bi-Rite grocery store or Dolores Park Cafe (both nearby on 18th street) and experience the park. Or, you can return to Valencia Street, and find tons of shops and restaurants from 16th street to 24th street. 24th street also has restaurants, bars and shops. If you walk on 24th Street towards Mission Street, shops extend up and down Mission Street from 16th - 30th.
